Pay-at-Exit configuration, directly from the car.
The ticket is cancelled after verification, and the exit
barrier opens by command from the Validator.
Cash drawer and receipt
printer are optionally available.
The Validator also provides management
and audit information. This includes recording ticket issuing transac-tions for
all types of tickets, plus cash taken by ticket type. Special tickets may also
be encoded by the validator such as post-dated (conference) tickets, subscriber
(season) tickets and one time exit (OTE) tickets. Lost or unreadable tickets can
also be re-issued.
Other parameters can be changed from the Validator
keyboard. They include:
· time and date,
· simple tariff structure,
· crossing period, grace period, free parking period,
etc...
· statistical counters : display or reset.
Whilst all these operations are easily achieved using the
validator keyboard, the PVE515 can also be connected to a PC. This would
facilitate simpler loading of the more complex tariff structures that are
possible with this system or allow loading of guidance messages in other
languages.
When used as an integral part of the ID_Park_LŪ car park management system, the PVP518 passive ticket validator encodes additional information onto a magnetic stripe ticket which has been issued by the car park entry terminal.
The validator encodes a ticket with a parking time bonus
after which it is returned to the customer. This bonus is taken into account
when the ticket is presented for payment or exit from the car park.
For
example, if a supermarket provides 2 hours free parking, the low-cost PVP518
could allow for ticket validation to be performed at each check-out counter (the
process takes less than 2 seconds). When leaving the car park, If the customer
has been parked for less than two hours, the BS442 Exit Terminal will then read
the validated ticket and open the exit barrier.
Alternatively, if the
time bonus has expired, the Exit Terminal will display a message informing the
parker that a fee must be paid. In such an example as this, where the system is
designed to deter long term parking and retain spaces for customer parking, a
high value fixed fee would normally be levied.
